James Avon Desert Rock / Airbus was on the road driving his splitter van working with his mate Robert Owen and his band Waxy on a European tour in 2019 when they saw Giampaolo of Italien power jam trio Muffasonic play at his place in Cervia Italy. They also had an impromptu jam with him.
Robbie and James for the rest of the tour imagined making a record with him.
James had known Robbie and Giampaolo since 2005 when James was on tour playing bass with Vic du Monte. Robbie’s band Waxy were sharing a few shows with them in Germany. Years later James even played bass with Waxy for some shows in California. James first met Giampaolo earlier in 2005 at Red Moon festival in Italy when at that time Giampaolo was playing drums with Brant Bjork, Nick Oliveri and his own band Them Bulls. So they’ve known eachother for years but just not all played together.
At this time James was unsure about what was happening with his group Avon and it being on a hyatus since 2018. He had started recording with Robbie on some of his own stuff already and liking the singing vibe.
So once Robbie and James had gotten home from the Waxy tour and checked out some of Giampaolo’s ideas, they started to create demos to vibe on. Robbie came in with his batch of ideas and James in turn..
Within months of talking about it they were then doing it.
Giampaolo flew out to LA in January 2020 and they worked up the tracks in James’ studio and then pressed record.
Then the world took a turn leading them to this moment where now they can present their record and get behind it in person.
Even though they’ve have known eachother so long and made this recording over 5 years ago. It’s still fresh as!
