“Rising singer-songwriter had the crowd eating out of her hands…” The Independent
"We'd even compare it to the impact of Jeff Buckley" Supajam
Singer-songwriter Katey Brooks’ unique sound epitomizes the culturally diverse environment in which she grew up. Born and raised between Bristol, London and Arizona to musical parents, the Indie Award nominee is best described as a female Hozier, with all the haunting intensity and every bit of the soul.
The writing for her forthcoming album began in the chaos of London life, continuing on tour in the dusty expanse of Australia at the beginning of 2015, and finding its completion on the side of a beautiful little mountain in the Welsh wilderness. Now under the wing of UK based label Abandon Music Group, Brooks packed in tours in the UK, Europe, Australia and Canada in 2016, and is excited to return to Bristol for a hometown show with her band, playing songs from the new album, with a sprinkling of old favourites for the diehard fans!
Dedicated to self-penned, honest, rootsy tunes the music from the Diner touches base with Country, Americana, Folk and Pop traditions yet the presentation and lyrical content comments on modern life through wondrous tales of love, loss, friendship and tigers!
Circe's Diner's tracks have been taken to live radio performances, airplay with BBC Introducing, live video sessions, film sync (High Tide. 2015) and performances across the UK and Europe including Glastonbury Festival and performing to the Great British Bakeoff’s family in the final.
