THE MARDOUS…………. Formed in early 2004, The Mardous made their initial breakthrough not in London, buy in Paris, France. Within minutes of their first gig, the French climbed on tables and chairs to catch a glimpse of the band in action. Once having secured some Metropolitan Paris Underground love, this British three piece went back to the UK, to open up gigs for Pete Doherty, Babyshambles, The Paddingtons, The Cribs and 10,000 things. Creation Records Alan McGee met The Mardous the night that Carl Barât dragged him away from a dinner date to go and check out the three-piece at Carl's club in Mayfair, London. He signed them on the spot. They released first single 'Revolution over the phone' in August 2005 to critical acclaim, and started shortlisting 11 tracks to air on their debut
They played alongside all the noughties favourites. including Arctic Monkeys - on one occasion both bands' lead singers standing centre-stage during soundcheck for a coin-toss to decide which band would headline that night. Then, the crash. The arse fell out of the record industry. Universal Music pulled the plug. The album would never be released.
Until now.
20 years later, The Mardous are back. And they bring with them their freshly remastered album which documents tales on the road.
