GoDBowie Sound and Vision plays Space Oddity 50th anniversary, the album where it all began for mainstream Bowie. Alongside classic Bowie tunes with a more folk and acoustic feel drawn from across 5 decades of Bowie genius.
Join the Genius of David Bowie for a relaxed afternoon where we recreate the era when the young Oddity first started ascending to Space. .0.
The first set, we play the hippy-folk stylings of the Space Oddity album in full, in order. Although not a huge hit, it shows he was already a highly versatile writer and performer, able to slip between stripped down acoustic ballads, rockier numbers and lengthy psychedelic epics with ease. Some of the songs were not performed live, so this is a rare opportunity to hear them performed.
Then we strip things down with Acoustic Bowie, where we play a chilled out set of some of his more obscure numbers from all the way through his back catalogue.
Finally, we conclude with Sound and Vision: a full set of his greatest hits, with an emphasis on up-tempo danceable numbers.
