A new battle of the bands competition “The Underdog” promises to bring a fresh approach this summer with a ground-breaking £1,000 cash prize. We aim to provide bands with an alternative to the national competitions by treating bands with respect and rewarding the talent and hard work involved with being in a successful band.
Exclusive to the Bristol area, this intimate and unique competition will feature thirteen events split between two of Bristol’s finest independent venues, The Thunderbolt and The Fleece, with one band taking home the £1,000 cash prize. The judges will be made up of music industry experts who are the movers and shakers within the city.

Made in Bristol TV's flagship daily show, The Source, will be covering the Underdog! Presenters Natalie Fee and Jack Maynard (who's also the brother of Conor Maynard) will follow the heats throughout July and August.

With a weekly audience reach of 200,000 viewers on Freeview, Sky and Virgin the bands will benefit from great exposure, shareable options will be available online too via their player, OnView.
