Friday 10 September
THE PRETTY THINGS + The Malchicks
MAXIMUM R&B: The Pretty Things first prowled the stage in 1964, sporting the world's longest hair and the worst rock & roll attitude ever seen. Featuring lead vocalist Phil May and lead guitarist Dick Taylor – also an original Rolling Stone. The Pretties recorded a clutch of raunchy R&B rockers in the mid-'60s that offer a punkier, rawer version of the early Stones sound. Their first two albums, as well as a brace of fine major and minor British hits (of which `Don't Bring Me Down` and `Honey I Need` were the biggest), feature first-rate original material and covers, and remain the group's most exciting and influential recordings which the 60`s U.S garage scene took their humbridge... THE PRETTY THINGS + The Malchicks
In the early 1960s, three bands led the British Beat Boom: The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and The Pretty Things. But the wildest, most dangerous of them all were the Pretty Things. Their hard-edged blues-rock, influenced by Bo Diddley and Jimmy Reed transformed into psychedelic rock. ‘SF Sorrow’ was the first rock opera, preseding The Who’s ‘Tommy’ by six months, In the intervening years The Pretty Things have lost none of their power or edge and are still led by lead singer Phil May and original Rolling Stones guitarist Dick Taylor. Exclusive performance. Support from the young, highly-regarded Malchicks.£15Adv from Bristol Ticket Shop Tel 0117 9299008

Wednesday 22 September
An Evening with REG PRESLEY- Legendary member of 60s band The Troggs and Crop Circle enthusiast
Legendary member of 60s band The Troggs and Crop Circle enthusiast - Reg Presley, has released a book about mysteries and conspiracies. Tonight he talks about Wild Thing, The Trogg tapes & Crop circles In recent years, The Troggs' frontman, Reg Presley has become as well known for his obsession with crop circles as for penning evergreen pop hits like 'Love Is All Around' and 'With a Girl Like You'. Indeed, in 1994 when Wet Wet Wet spent a whopping 15 weeks at number one with their cover of 'Love Is All Around', Reg famously joked that on receipt of the imminent royalties, he'd finally be able to devote all his time to investigating the mysterious field formations. Reg's interest in the paranormal was piqued one summer's day in 1990 when he walked into a crop formation at Alton Barnes in Marlborough. His life was changed forever. The following years were spent researching Crop Circles, conspiracies and unexplained phenomena. He even found time to make an appearance in forthcoming Crop Circle movie 'A Place To Stay'. Reg has finally documented his findings in his first book 'Wild Things They Don't Tell Us'.

KING KING Featuring Alan Nimmo + Lewis Creaven Band
Running with the King King ethos that more is always more when it comes to talent, this summer’s audiences will also be treated to a special guest in the form of Craig Blundell, recently described by Drummer magazine as `one of the UK's most versatile and staggeringly talented players`. A hugely gifted and resourceful musician, Craig is also clearly a dynamo at juggling – aside from live performances, the last year has seen him in constant demand for worldwide drumming clinics, recording sessions, instructional books and even a documentary. With this lineup of top-shelf musicians, King King could only draw their inspiration from the best in the business, ranging from legendary greats such as BB King and Albert Collins to the shining lights of contemporary blues like Joe Bonamassa and John Mayer. Drawing on their combined talent whilst cherry-picking the hottest influences, the band has pushed boundaries to craft a fresh, powerful new angle on blues rock which is as infectious as it is accomplished. www.myspace.com/kingkingblues LEWIS CREAVEN BAND: Lewis has been a part of the Bristol music scene from a very young age (picking up a guitar at the age of ten), and now fronting his own band, the word of his talent is. www.creaven.co.uk £7Adv from Bristol ticket Shop Tel 01179299008 www.bristolticketshop.co.uk £10 on the Door

MIKE PETERS (THE ALARM) Direct Acoustic Tour + Gerard Starkie(Witness/Blue Aeroplanes) + Russell Joslin
After 30 years in the rock and roll business, The Alarm continues as an ever-unfolding drama commanding worldwide attention starting with those early days in Rhyl - and still fronted by lead singer, guitarist, everyman and original genius Mike Peters. And it is to this man alone we turn tonight; every bit as powerful and commanding armed with acoustic guitar, harmonica and those songs of hope, spirituality, camaraderie and lifelong friendship amongst fans; fifteen hit singles including 68 Guns, Spirit of 76, Rain In The Summertime, Strength and The Stand; five million albums sold; pioneering musicality and stage-sharing duties with Dylan, U2 and Neil Young. It all adds up, don't it? No wonder Mike Peters is a legend. www.myspace.com/thealarm http://www.myspace.com/thealarm GERARD STARKIE: Gerard Starkie is one of the finest singers in England. That might sound like pure rhetoric but the evidence has long been evident from the two magnificent albums that Starkie recorded with his former band, Witness. It was after the release of the second Witness album, however, that the band quit Island Records. Despite phenomenal reviews, the album stubbornly refused to realise its heightened commercial expectations. The band decided on a different direction, with Gerard Starkie now working as a solo artist. www.myspace.com/gerardstarkiemusic http://www.myspace.com/gerardstarkie RUSSELL JOSLIN:living proof of how fresh, vigorous and abrasive an acoustic songwriter can and should be in the 21st Century.' - Tom Robinson, BBC jet black and white - the new album is now available from www.russelljoslinmusic.co.uk £10adv £12 on the door

Thursday 30 September
WE WILL HAVE VICTORY
Hailing from Bristol UK, We Will Have Victory are the last word in music for a generation craving revolution from sanitised, soulless, lifeless rock. The band consists of Captain Nikki Debauls on guitar and lead vocals, Sgt JJ Memphis on Lead Guitar, Tailgunner Ruthless on the drumkit and Corporal Jack Hammer on the bass guitar. Formed from the burning wreckages of Kortez and Teenage Girls the band re-grouped and hardened their sound. The result is a twisted mix of metal and Alt rock. The bands live gigs are an awesome spectacle, dressed in f**ked up army gear - imagine if Motley Crue were actually hard enough to have fought in Vietnam - with smoke and strobe effects making them a huge pull on the gigging circuit. £4Adv from Bristol Ticket Shop £5 on the Door

CLAYSON & THE ARGONAUTS + ALIEN STASH TIN
There are people around still, who'll tell you that Clayson and the Argonauts were the greatest group ever formed.` Alan Clayson and the Argonauts first performed on the 9th January 1977 at the 100 club, and fast became a traveling rock asylum. Forced out of a venue in Reading at gunpoint, band members in prison or quitting altogether, one going on to co produce `You’re the one that I want` and another to father a future member of Girls Aloud, Alan Clayson and the Argonauts went on to gig all around the country and through the punk era, and a whole host of exciting exploits. From a near lynching in Birmingham, to a punch up in Canning Town, to women clambering on stage to tear of the Clayson’s clothes, it can be expected that a reunion will bring a night of rock and frivolity - 70’s style! www.alanclayson.com ALIEN STASH TIN:`This album is very very good. His autobiography Rock and Roll's Greatest Failure out sold, by a factor of ten, all the records he had released since his hit.
